WHO DOESN'T LOVE SNAKES?

SNAKEBITE: THE NEGLECTED TROPICAL DISEASE

A disease in urgent need of attention.

Snakes, sneks, noodles...we love them!

But did you know nearly 3 million people are affected by snakebite every year? Envenomation (snakebite plus venom) claims 81,000 to 138,000 lives annually, and permanently disables another 400,000 people.

"Snakebite is the most important tropical disease you've never heard of." -Kofi Annan

Snakebite has a huge impact in tropical communities with poor infrastructure. A family can spend an entire year's earnings on traditional treatments that simply don't work.  And by the time a patient is taken to a hospital for medical attention, is often too late.

The solution is access to effective antivenom

Antivenom is the only treatment that can save lives and limbs!  Yet only 5% of patients will receive it.

Let's improve those odds!
